MUD DISPOSAL SOLUTIONS

TECHNOLOGY FOR DRILLING MUD DEWATERING

The KUGLER® BTC complete solution is designed to separate drilling mud into solid material and clear filtrate.

The KUGLER process has been developed to obtain a solid medium to facilitate and economize the transport of sludge for final disposal.

This process, using flocculation/conditioning and static dewatering, removes water from the drilling mud, resulting in a robust material that is easily transportable.

The disposal must be carried out in accordance with applicable regional, national, and local laws and regulations.

MUD DEVELOPMENT OVER TIME

Filling the dewatering container with drilling mud generally occurs within 1-3 hours (depending on the total solids content).

Subsequently, the batch undergoes further dewatering (if necessary overnight) via a timer-programmed vibrating motor.

The conditioned drilling mud dehydrates, producing a robust material within a maximum period of 16 hours. Once completed, the container is emptied to start the next batch.

How does it work?

The mud is introduced into the machinery, which mixes it with the solidifying product until the reaction is complete

Once solidified, the mud is easily discharged and disposed of according to current regulations

COMPONENTS

BTC

A specific dewatering container for drilling mud. A static dewatering process based on gravity and sedimentation is used, which makes it practically maintenance-free and reduces wear.

The BTC consists of a standard outer container and a removable inner basket equipped with a durable filter fabric. Water is separated through the filter, leaving solid mud that can be easily removed from the container.

The dewatering process is optimized thanks to a high-frequency vibrating motor controlled by a timer and an additional central filter partition that increases the overall efficiency of the filtration process.

FlocTower®

The FlocTower is made entirely of V2A stainless steel and includes the entire support apparatus, including components for flocculation formation and filtrate recirculation.

The system is equipped with submersible pumps and all necessary peripheral components, including connections for pipes and electrical links.

Polymer preparation station built as a compact unit consisting of a static mixer, an automatic proportional dosing unit for the flocculant, a flocculation formation tank (100 l), and a filtrate return tank (200 l) along with 3 submersible motor pumps with motor protection switch and all necessary pipes/components for piping.
